The module accepts power from a 1769-PA2, 1769-PB2, 1769-PA4, or 1769-PB4 supply, and it must sit within the 8-module distance rating from that supply.
If you use a MicroLogix 1500, insert the module after the base unit or adjacent to any module following the base unit. In a CompactLogix assembly, it can go anywhere as long as the distance rating is respected. Observe the 8 ms input delay when tuning your logic — it is short, but it is real.

During planned outages, inspect terminal screws for looseness and check for corrosion on copper conductors. Confirm that the OFF-state voltage on idle channels stays below 5V DC. If a channel reads ON when the field device is off, suspect induced voltage or a wiring fault before replacing the module.
